Terms of use.

Consulting services on mattdecrevel.com are provided by nineteen87 LLC (“I” / “me”). By using this site, requesting a proposal, or paying an invoice, you agree to these terms. For any specific engagement, the signed proposal, statement of work, or agreement is what controls — if it conflicts with anything here, the signed agreement wins.

The scope, deliverables, and timeline for your engagement are defined in your proposal or statement of work. This site and any estimates are informational and don't create an engagement until we both agree in writing.

• Invoices are issued from this site and are due on the terms shown on the invoice (by default, net terms from the date it's sent). A retainer is billed at the start of each cycle.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. You can pay by bank transfer (ACH — the lowest-fee option) or credit card. Card and bank details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and handled entirely by Stripe; I never receive your full card or bank numbers. Your use of the payment page is also subject to Stripe's terms.
• ACH bank transfers can take a few business days to settle; an invoice is marked paid once the funds clear. Card payments confirm right away.
• If you've authorized automatic retainer payments, the saved payment method is charged at the start of each cycle until you tell me to stop.
• Overdue invoices may receive reminders. Work may be paused on accounts that are significantly past due.

Refund and cancellation terms for your engagement are set in your agreement. Where a refund is due, it's returned through Stripe to the original payment method; bank-transfer payments are reversed by the same route or by arrangement. Deposits for fixed-scope work are generally non-refundable once the work has begun, except as your agreement states.

How I handle the information involved in an engagement — including what is and isn't shared with Stripe and other processors — is described in the privacy policy.

Ownership of deliverables transfers as set out in your agreement, typically on full payment. I treat your non-public information as confidential, and I expect the same for mine. Specifics live in the signed agreement.

This site is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, my liability for any engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement, and I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Your signed agreement may set out more specific terms.

I may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page. Material changes to an active engagement are handled through your agreement, not this page.
